At organically we found it difficult not to notice how wasteful it is to use some beautifully printed wrapping paper just once.

Paper requires trees. Deforestation is now said to be a major cause of global warming. True, some wrapping paper is made from recycled paper, but still the printing process requires a lot of chemicals and their residues are washed into the water systems. Wrapping paper is often not recyclable especially if there is any metallic content in it. So between felling trees and poisoning the waterways, is it really worth using printed paper just once?

If there was one thing that Siew-Peng at organically wanted to invent it would be edible gift wrapper!

She remembers vividly how amidst all the Christmas presents at his first Christmas, her son was only interested in playing with (ie chewing up) the wrappers!

Since edible paper is out for now, the next best thing is cloth gift wrapper bags.

In the UK, rubbish collection is annoyingly halted over Christmas and New Year, and the wheelie bins are often filled with little other than wrapping paper that had been used once. So organically advocates another way: the cloth gift wrapper bag way.

Our Fair Trade organic cotton Gift Wrapper Bags are about the only thing we are happy to send across the pond to USA as we know they are not available any where else.
